"Go with the flow" - Keihona

Keihona wanted to have graffiti backdrops for her photo shoot.  I spent the day before scouting out a a couple of locations and found this awesome location with graffiti art.  We had so much fun during her photo shoot walking around and letting her choose which graffiti art she wanted to be photographed in front of and then picking outfits from the clothes she brought.  This is what we specialize in.  We want your photos to represent who you are and we have fun in the process.  She even brought one of her friends with her to get a couple of photos with.  Below are some of the photos from our model group photo shoots and her personal senior portrait session.   Keihona also sent me a couple of messages that I wanted to share with you.

We have had so much fun working with Sara as one of our models and shooting her senior portraits.  She has really blossomed and come out of her shell.

"Getting the chance to be a model for Teri Bay Photography is one of the best things that I get to be a part of. I got to meet some of the coolest people, got my pictures taken by two amazing photographers, and got to stay at a beach house with all these people. I made a bunch of new friends and I'm coming out of my comfort zone. Before the weekend spent at the beach I wouldn't play my instrument in front of people, I was awkward when someone tried to get me to take pictures for homecoming or other types of fancy events. Now I'm more confident in myself. Seeing the pictures that were taken of me that weekend made me feel great about myself and has opened so many more doors because I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit more then I thought I would that weekend. thank you so much for letting me be a part of this group."

Why You Should Insure Your Camera & Photography Equipment - Teri Bay Photography - Eugene, Springfield & Roseburg, Oregon's Premier Senior Portrait Photographer

Photographers, I can't impress upon you enough, INSURE your photography gear!!  Also, have BACKUP gear!  Accidents happen....enough said!

We recently did a group photo shoot with our models.  We hiked about a mile to Susan Creek Falls.

Halfway through the photo shoot, my biggest fear became a reality....I slipped on some mossy rocks and fell into the creek and completely submerged my camera and lens.

This could have been a tragedy but thankfully we had our backup gear with us and we are fully insured!

I finished up the shoot without a hiccup other than being miserably wet.

We called our insurance agent the following day and by the end of the week our camera and lens had been replaced!

Below is a photo taken right before my big splash and one taken right afterwards.

We often hear that our photos look like the background is photoshopped in afterwards.  We have never done composites and added in our backgrounds afterwards.  It's all in the lighting and camera settings.

 It's usually windy so we use a couple of people to hold our lights for us.

2014 Teri Bay Photography Model Waterfall Photo Shoot - Eugene & Roseburg Oregon's Premier Senior Portrait Photographer

We love watching our models' confidence grow from their first photo shoot to their last. It's an amazing transformation that takes place. When they come to have their first photo taken, they are nervous and very self-conscious and then when they come to their last photo shoot they are bold and brave! 

These are photos from our recent waterfall shoot with our junior models and Class of 2015 models. They all did an outstanding job, even when we challenged them with "I want you to pose yourself up and I'm going to take one shot...make it count"!
